Description

This Residential Medical Center is a 249-bed OSHPD regulated complex providing specialized medical care and enrichment programs. The new 202,000 SF, six-story (five-stories above grade and one-story below for parking), steel moment frame building integrates state of the art systems, equipment, design and programming elements. Facilities include a 10-bed geriatric psychiatric unit, residential neighborhoods, indoor and outdoor recreational spaces, kitchen and dining room facilities, entertainment and computer centers, clinical medical services and a research center. Additionally a central plant, site improvements and infrastructure work was required. The project meets LEED certification requirements. Complexities such as multiple phases, logistical planning for an urban site, an expedited schedule and occupied adjacent facilities were addressed through the implementation of a communication plan.
